I have read and collected dozens of the books of Charteris’ The Saint – Dick Bruna designed covers for them. I admire Dick Bruna for his devotion, clear approach and the black outlines he used for these book covers. These formed the basis of my design for Miffy: I transformed my dolls and figures into heroic private detectives.’
