Romero Britto

Romero Britto is a Brazilian painter and sculptor in the Pop Art movement. His colorful and daring universe reflects his optimistic vision of the world around him.

Self-taught and precocious, Romero Britto had his first exhibition at the age of 14 and has been inspired throughout his career by the artists he discovered during his travels. As a lover of Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, Britto uses screen printing in his works.

Quickly noticed and pampered by critics, Romero Britto’s works have been exhibited in galleries and museums in more than a hundred countries and in the most prestigious countries such as the Louvre in Paris and the Soumaya Museum in Mexico City, where he was the first artist to be exhibited during his lifetime.

In addition to his inspiration for the great masters Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso whom he met in Paris, Britto also admires and appropriates Cubism, which he adapts in his own way and soon becomes his signature.
