Recycled bronze statue made using the lost wax technique. This model is approximately 16 cm. The bronzes are distinguished by the quality of their finish and the human values they embody.
STEPS OF BRONZE PRODUCTION
CLAY PREPARATION
First of all, the artist must prepare the clay, mixed with donkey dung, for the future mold.
LAYING CLAY
The statue is formed by carefully applying the clay mixed on it, a very resistant material.
MODEL MAKING BY SCULPTING THE WAX
Then the performance of the bronze statue continues with the modeling of an original model made in wax by the artist.
PREPARATION OF THE MOLD
It forms the blowhole so that the wax can flow out and the bronze can be poured in and the air can escape.
LAYING THE FRAMES IN THE GANGUE
A fixture in a statue is used to support the weight of the clay. Once the mold is dry, it is heated.
CHASING THE WAX
The wax melts and flows out through the openings. The artist collects it in a container.
CASTING THE BRONZE
The molten bronze is poured and fills the impression left by the molten wax. Once the bronze has solidified and cooled.
REMOVING THE SCORIES
The mold is broken to remove the statue: each item is unique. At this stage, many defects remain, the scories must be removed.
FINISHING
This is followed by a long and delicate finishing work before the bronze copy that is faithful to the original wax statue is found again.
