This beautiful and intriguing artwork by Roser Oter, entitled “Under the Moon,” combines subtle earthy tones with a minimalist, yet deeply expressive design. The piece consists of a robust, rust-colored metal panel that serves as a backdrop for delicate ceramic elements. A crescent moon floats at the top of the work, and beneath it are stylized shapes reminiscent of books, a ladder and a mysterious, abstract flower or figure, all executed in natural shades of ceramic.
The sleek, handmade metal ladder suggests a journey or ambition, while the ceramic elements add a sense of softness and transience. The texture and subtle color shades of the ceramic contrast beautifully with the raw, industrial character of the metal. The work raises questions about the human experience, dreams and the relationship between the earthly and the heavenly.
This unique work of art is signed by the artist and is a perfect addition for lovers of modern and meaningful art. It is a beautiful, symbolic piece that will create a profound presence in any space.

Roser Oter is a ceramist from Catalonia who makes figural ceramics: often small seated human figures that read. They are usually placed in a larger “environment” such as a landscape or stacks of thin plates of clay like sheets of paper. But also on a bench, a high chair or a piece of rock. These attributes are often made of metal, rusted iron wire or found objects (‘objets trouvés’), such as iron bands and wooden staves from wine barrels. Much of the work is made of paper clay.
